Illuminated Waters 2020 is back on Memorial Day weekend

Rain or Shine the Puppets will GLOW!

StoneLion Puppet Theatre’s fourteenth annual giant puppet play and festival takes over Theis Park once again. This unique and FREE, two-day water festival will combine everything we all love — a giant puppet play, food trucks from around Kansas City, interactive art, games and music. This year you’ll experience new artists, strolling musicians and activities before the show. Then watch an amazing all new giant puppet performance – “The Long Spoons”.  That’s not all! Immediately following the play join in Kansas City’s own FAMILY FRIENDLY PUPPET GLOW Event — with glowing art, glow performers, backlight fun, music and interactive games alongside illuminated puppets. Bring a picnic, or snack from the healthy food trucks, play and be involved with the art!

This is a FREE event

When: Friday & Saturday, May 22 & 23, 2020 – Rain or Shine

Time: 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. each day
Show time for “The Long Spoons” giant puppet play – 8:30 pm each night
Illuminated Pearl Launch and Puppet Glow Event – 9:00 pm each night
Time to interact with the glowing puppets and illuminated art between events each night.

Where: Theis Park
Oak Street and West 47th St
Kansas City, MO 64111

New this year: Become an Illuminated Supporter (for only $10), and receive your own glowing pearl from mermaids in The Mermaid Grotto. Then become part of the glow itself by taking your pearl, making your wish for the water, and feeding our giant illuminated whale - helping to build a glowing representation of our support for the planet!

StoneLion is a local Kansas City Puppet Theatre, whose goal is to bring awareness to environmental issues in our area and to provide realistic opportunities for change and involvement through the art of puppetry — We can all make a difference to make this planet a better place.
